The 780-715U is a Robertshaw ignition control assembly that features flame rectification with solid-state logic and flame sensing to provide automatic sequencing. Solid-state logic and flame sending help ensure the proper operation of a connected pilot.
This control assembly is designed to work with continuous ignition pilots, as the 780-715U is able to monitor pilot burner flame to ensure steady heat. Should the pilot flame fail during the heating cycle, the control will shut off the main valve until the pilot flame is established.
In ten second increments, the 780-715U will attempt to spark the pilot. If the pilot flame is not sensed after three attempts, the control goes into a one-hour safety lockout period.
