M50065 Fuel Pump 1725 RPM Clockwise Rotation fits DESA Portable Heaters

The DESA M50065 High Pressure Fuel Oil Pump was a 1725 RPM 150 Max PSI high pressure single stage oil pump designed for use with the High Pressure Portable heaters made by DESA International.

The "Old Style" M50065 is now replaced with the Suntec A1YD-7154-B Single Stage high pressure pump.

The M50065 Fuel Pump was most commonly used on the B350 Series heaters as well as the B600 Series High Pressure Portable heaters.

This new series M50065 replacement pump from Suntec can be used in place of the original Desa M50065 high pressure fuel oil pump. The original Desa pump was used on several high-pressure heaters, including Reddy High Pressure Heaters, Master High Pressure Oil Fired Heaters, and Dayton Oil Fired heaters.

It was also used by manufacturers such as Knipco , LB White , Dayton, and Koehring, as well as other privately labeled portable heaters manufactured by DESA International out of Bowling Green Kentucky prior to the company closing its doors in 2008

The A1YD-7154-B / M50065 Fuel pump is designed for Fuel oil #2 and lighter, B6-B100 (blends from 6% up to 100% biodiesel, per ASTM D396.)

Pipe Installation & Bleed Notes

One pipe installation:

The by-pass plug must not be installed.

The excess fuel is returned back to the inlet.

Two pipe installation:

The steel plug of the return port must be removed, and the by-pass plug must be inserted in the return port, allowing excess fuel to be bypassed back to the tank.

The return plug must not be reinstalled.

Bleed:

In one pipe operation, the easy flow bleeder valve must be loosened to bleed the system.

Bleeding in two-pipe operation is automatic, but it may be accelerated by loosening the easy flow bleeder.

The M50065 High Pressure Fuel Oil Pump is a Webster Fuel pump and can be used on portable heaters burning kerosene, diesel and fuel oil # 2.

Service Note

For replacing an older style High Pressure pump that had an internal fuel filter, the 098560-04 Kit will need to be used.
