This 799651 Armature -Magneto kit is a replacement part for Briggs and Stratton single and twin cylinder gasoline engines.
The use of the 799651 Armature - Magneto kit may require some modifications to the blower housing and cylinder to be properly installed.
Please read replacement instruction for the Briggs and Stratton 799651 Armature - Magneto replacement kit before installation.
Briggs and Stratton 799651 Installation Instructions:
Note: On some model both modifications to the Blower Housing and the Cylinder will be required.
Please read the enclosed instructions that are provided with your new 799651 Armature - Magneto Kit.
Instructions:
If the new 799651 Armature product code 796566 does not fit between the two armature mounting post on your current cylinder the following modifications will be required for the cylinder and blower housing.
These modifications will be necessary for the proper installation of the 799651 Armature - Magneto Kit.
Cylinder Modification:
Using a file or small hand held grinder, remove the material in the shaded area (See Figure 1), leaving the 1/2 (13 mm) post as shown in (Figure 1).
File all new edges smooth and round off the the inside and outside corners to prevent any damage to the new armature or ignition cable.
Install the new armature, screws and washers. Torque the armature mounting screws to 25 inch pounds (2.8 Nm).
Blowe Housing Modification:
Remove a 3/8 x 5/8 (9.5 mm x 16 mm) section and a 3/8 x 1/2 (9.58 mm x 13 mm) section from the current blower housing as shown in figure 2.
Install the blower housing and torque the screws to 80 inch pounds (9 Nm).
Note: On some model both modifications to the Blower Housing and the Cylinder will be required.
