PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD 104040 SERIES

Part Number: 104068-02

Availability: In stock

The 104068-02 Printed Circuit Board is the latest part number for the OEM 104040X, 104040W, 104040-01 and 104040-02 printed circuit board for many of the portable kerosene construction, contractor and consumers heaters that were made by Desa International.

The 104068-02 Printer Circuit Boards were used in Low Pressure Portable Kerosene, Diesel and JP8 fuel burning heaters made under the private label names of Reddy Heater, Master Heater, Remington Heaters, All-Pro heaters, Universal heaters, Dayton Heaters, Sears Craftsman Heaters and other privately labeled heaters.

The 104068-02 Printed Circuit Board it what triggers the 120 AC voltage to ignite the PP200 / HA1000 Ignitor, then the board continues to provide AC current to the heater motor by sensing the resistance from the Photocell.

This replacement printed circuit board replaces the previous printed circuit boards under the following part numbers:

104040 Printed Circuit Board
104040X Printed Circuit Board
104040-01 Printed Circuit Board

All of these printed circuit boards have been replaced by the 104068-02 Printed Circuit Board.

To Check Ignition Control Assembly

Remove fuse cover and check fuse (70,000 to 200,000 Btu models only).
If fuse is blown replace it with a GMA-6.5A fuse part number 113752-01.
Disconnect motor red and white wires from control.
With Ignitor wires disconnected, attach voltmeter leads to the ignitor terminals (labeled IGNITOR).
Use the 0 to 200 V.A.C. scale.
Plug power cord into a grounded 120V/60 Hz outlet. Meter should read 120V(rms) for approximately 10 seconds. If voltage reads 0 or stays at 120 for more than 10 seconds, the control is defective and should be replaced.

WARNING:

DO NOT LET ANY PORTION OF YOUR BODY TOUCH ELECTRODES OR PLUG, DUE TO HIGH VOLTAGE.

TEST PROCEDURE

1. Check Ignitor

Disconnect ignitor wires from ignition control assembly. Measure the resistance of the ignitor at the terminals with an ohmmeter (use 0-200 OHM scale). Ignitor resistance should measure 30 to 175 OHMS. If resistance measures outside of this range, then ignitor is defective and should be replaced.

2. Check Ignition Control Assembly

Remove fuse cover and check fuse (70,000 to 200,000 Btu models only). If fuse is blown replace it with a GMA- 10 fuse.
