The PP214 Air Filter replacement kit consists of an air input filter and an air output filter as well as the fuel pick up filter.
It is important to keep the air filter and fuel delivery system of any portable heater clean and free of any type of foreign debris, dirt or carbon dust from the air pump rotor.
The foam air input filter M12179 is located at the right rear of the motor and its purpose is to filter all incoming air prior to entering the air pump.
This filter design is such that it can be cleaned in a mild, soapy solution, thoroughly dried and used over again.
The air output filter M12244-1 is located under the plastic end cover and needs to be replaced on an annual basis.
This filter's purpose is to prevent any carbon dust (from rotor or blade wear) from entering the air passages in the nozzle. This filter is non-cleanable and should be replaced when considerable buildup of carbon dust is observed.

- Service Information
A clean work area at the start of each job is essential for efficient service work. Portable heaters which are extremely dirty should be cleaned prior to service. Cleaning will occasionally uncover the problem area. Tools needed for the job should be obtained before work is started. Clean fuel should always be used when testing heaters.
Many problems are often traced to the use of the wrong type of fuel or dirty fuel.
Use caution and common sense when working on a heater. Always remember that kerosene is flammable, electrical parts can result in the potential shock and the heater parts are hot during operation, which could result in burns if one is not careful.
After replacing the PP214 Air Filter Kit, always make sure to check the plastic pump end cover for any cracks or damage that would allow air to escape and not be directed to the nozzle. It is very common after time or from over tightening the plastic pump end cover for the cover to develop a crack. This small crack can prevent your heater from starting properly and running properly.
Warning: Never service a heater while it is plugged in, operating or still hot. Severe burns and electrical shock can occur.
Note: Correct pump pressure must be calibrated after installation:
This can be done using a low pressure gauge such as the HA1180 or an equivalent pressure gauge.
This can also be done by turning your pump adjustment screw clockwise until the nose cone of the heater is glowing orange all around the unit and just a little bit darker color on the last 3/4 of an inch of the center point of the nose cone.
This will give you the optimum heat from your unit as well as the least amount of fumes.
If fumes burn your eyes discontinue use and consult a service technician.
